?About the roleWe're on the lookout for a dynamic Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Mungari Gold Operations.
Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering smart, safe, and cost-effective geotechnical solutions for our open pit operations.
From designing functional pit walls to collaborating across teams to unlock the full potential of our Mineral Resources, you'll be at the forefront of driving safety and performance.

The position will be on an 8:6 roster 12-hour days (Residential to Kalgoorlie, or FIFO from Perth only).
Key deliverables include:Conduct geotechnical mapping of open pit high walls and core logging of drilling programsPerform geotechnical evaluations, risk assessments, and provide sound recommendationsMonitor and assess geotechnical designs and pit slope stabilityDesign and implement de-pressurisation drilling programs (as required)Ensure blast designs align with geotechnical domains and recommendationsInvestigate geotechnical occurrences and deliver actionable insightsProvide geotechnical input into mine design and schedulingDevelop and maintain slope monitoring programs and conduct regular inspectionsDeliver ground awareness training to site personnelCollaborate with geologists, surveyors, engineers, and operators to optimise outcomesPropose safe, cost-effective mining plans to key stakeholdersIdentify and implement business improvement opportunitiesConduct regular audits and reviews, ensuring documentation is up to dateEnsure compliance with company and statutory geotechnical requirementsAbout youAre you a proactive problem-solver with a passion for safety and innovation?

We're looking for a dynamic professional who thrives on collaboration, communicates with clarity, and brings a hands-on, data-driven approach to geotechnical excellence.You will have a tertiary qualification in Mining, Geoscience, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on Geomechanics, and have the following experience.Minimum 3 years' geotechnical experience in an open pit mining environmentExperience in Operations, Technical Services or Project ManagementWorking understanding of safety systems, geotechnical design and controls, for Open Pit operationsFamiliar with Rocscience Geotechnical software.Experience with Leapfrog and or Deswik desirableFlexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.At Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
