The Data Automation Specialist is part of the reporting team that sit within the broader Global Investment Implementation Services (GIIS) team that supports the Pacific Investment Solutions (IS) business.

The Data Automation Specialist is a key figure in assembling and delivering complex data sets to various stakeholders but primarily supporting the Mercer Super Trust in meeting its regulatory reporting obligations.

This newly created role requires a business SME who will manage the existing data reporting tools but also contribute to the process of transitioning into new systems, as we continually move towards better, more robust solutions. The role will lead to a deep understanding of investment structure, regulatory requirements, and have close working relationships with the Investment Management and Product teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Liaise with the Data Solutions Project team on the deployment of new data solutions and their integration into regulatory return data sets
- Work with Business Analysts on scoping, discovery, compilation and review of business requirements
- Work with testers on compiling test plans, assisting with queries and reviewing results
- Liaise with Project Managers in relation to updates, issues and risks
- Document training and procedures relating to existing, new, or changed functionality
- Assist with the provision of training and information sessions related to new or changed functionality
- Be an SME for future data returns/accreditations leveraging existing data capabilities
- Track regulatory deliverable dates and organize workflow accordingly
- Manage and produce reportable datasets from established systems
- Liaise with stakeholders should data require supplemental information or granular categorisation
- Line 1 contact for any audit or data related queries stemming from data sets produced.
- Investigate data anomalies, troubleshoot process errors
- Design and implement data integrity checks to reduce manual risks

**What you need to have**:

- Degree in Finance or a related field
- 2+ years in data related fields and preferably financial services
- A general understanding of financial markets and investment management processes
- Tertiary qualification and/or industry specific qualification
- Good organisational, comprehension and communication skills
- Numerate, diligent & persistent. Expert level of skills in Excel & VBA.
- An ability to manipulate large set of data extractions, into structured meaningful subsets which meet regulatory requirements.
