Project Support Officer

The Project Support Officer is positioned within our Industry Strategy and Programs (ISP), Governance and Support team, and will provide integral support to an efficient, flexible and responsive team responsible for implementation of state-wide industry strategies and programs to enable Queensland industries and workplaces to drive health, safety, injury management and well-being performance.

**The Project Support Officer will**:

- Support ISP's strategic direction and work cooperatively with the ISP team in the planning, design and implementation of evidence-informed innovative, industry interventions and engagement programs. Provide administrative and project support to the delivery of ISP programs that are responsive, effective, efficient, delivered on time, within budget and to stated quality standards. Provide assistance to the administration of WHS strategy frameworks in collaboration with OIR's technical, policy and inspectorate work units to achieve OIR's strategic objectives. Provide operational support to the development and coordination of capability frameworks for the effective delivery of strategy and workplace advisory programs, within the ISP Directorate. Assist with coordinating the development of legislation and standards for enhancing the systematic management of health and safety within priority industries and hazard areas. Support the day-to-day administration of the ISP Directorate to deliver customerdriven, innovative and effective health and safety advisory services and campaigns, which assist priority businesses to effectively and practically manage health and safety and injury management outcomes. Support the development and implementation of communication strategies and events that promote the return on investment benefits of workplace health and safety, injury management and safety culture and leadership. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders by managing relationships with OIR partners, industry and employee representatives, academics, other WHS jurisdictions and other stakeholders to create collaborations and partnership opportunities. Assist in the preparation of project management resources, technical reports, correspondence, submissions and high-level briefs as directed. Provide assistance to the monitoring and evaluation frameworks to report on strategy, programs and initiatives within the scope of the role. Assist with research and data analysis to identify targeted industries' workplace health and safety performance and issues. Model professional and ethical behaviour and act in accordance with the Queensland Public Service legislative framework and Code of Conduct.

The right person for this opportunity will possess the following:
1. Experience in providing administrative and project management support in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of projects, including ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage timeframes to meet deadlines.2. Well-developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully engage with a wide variety of stakeholders within the public and private sectors, and coordinate communication activities and events.3. Ability to undertake basic research, data analysis and report on the findings.4. Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, relevant legislation and broader emerging issues affecting workplace health and safety and rehabilitation and return-to-work.
