Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Freedom of Information Officer on a contract for 12 months.

**Position Overview**

The role will assist the team with Participant Information Access (PIA) requests made to the Agency and contribute to the development of the Agency's information handling requirements. The APS6 Freedom of Information Officer will be a delegate FOI and PIA decision-maker and will make robust FOI decisions.

The position will perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

The APS6 Freedom of Information Officer (Labour Hire) will, under limited supervision, manage relationships with stakeholders within the department, Government agencies, the Ministers office and the Office of the Information Commissioner.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Assisting and making FOI decisions on complex matters in accordance with the FOI Act.
- Assisting and making PIA decisions as a PIA delegate.
- Managing the priorities of clients and available resources to deliver results on time and within budget.
- Preparing and contributing to a range of other material including briefing material for Ministers. Board papers, media releases, reports to Parliamentary committees, and correspondence.
- Supporting the development of systems, processes and practical tools including delivering training to support FOI handling and awareness.
