We are a leading national law firm seeking an experienced Lawyer/Associate to join our Government & Commercial Law team in Canberra. Our ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience in information law, particularly federal privacy law and related regulatory frameworks. The successful applicant will support and advise government clients navigating the intersection between privacy law, confidentiality/secrecy provisions and decisions made under legislation.

The role involves:

  • Supporting government clients with privacy threshold assessments, privacy impact assessments, and data privacy risk and compliance reviews;
  • Managing privacy complaints/incidents;
  • Familiarity with archives, FOI, and statutory secrecy provisions;
  • An excellent working knowledge of privacy-related regulatory frameworks.
