FOI Officer/Lawyer (Baseline Clearance Essential) - Daily rate $900 to $1330 inc super - Initial 6 month secondment - Canberra Location

The Role

Our client is seeking experienced Freedom of Information (FOI) Officer/Lawyer to work on secondment with a high profile federal government department, managing and overseeing FOI requests receivedby the Department.

The Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be required to:

  • undertake processing of FOI requests and requests for internal review in accordance with the FOI Act and our client's FOI Business Rules;
  • be responsible for the management and coordination of all FOI requests received by the department, ensuring compliance with the statutory obligations contained in the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act);
  • liaise and engage with key stakeholders including other government agencies; and
  • have strong analytical skills and attention to detail to enable you to effectively and pragmatically manage coordination of complex FOI cases.

The Requirements

Previous experience working as an FOI Officer Officer/Lawyer in a federal government department, expert knowledge and understanding of the FOI Act and a Baseline clearance is essential.
