This role is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurse (grade 3), Psychologist (grade 2), Occupational Therapists (grade 2), and Social Workers (grade 2)
The AOD clinician is required to demonstrate clinically meaningful progress towards client-centred goals.
Help lead/support major mental health reform in Victoria to ensure that everyone is supported.
Be part of the launch of one of the first of 60 Mental Health Locals in Victoria.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of peer and community-led mental health services.
This local support initiative is a key recommendation of the recent Royal Commission into Victoria's mental health system, aiming to improve community well-being.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local
Wellways, Mentis Assist, and Peninsula Health collaborate to provide mental health and wellbeing support in Frankston, ensuring access to treatment and care closer to home.
The Frankston Mental Health Local offers welcoming, inclusive support for people aged 26 and over experiencing mental health challenges, including co-occurring alcohol and drug dependence.
We work with the community and individuals with lived experience to co-produce services that are effective and inclusive.
We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, those with lived experience of mental health issues, and members of the LGBTIQA+ community.
About the Role
This clinical role is based within the Frankston Local services but may involve working across all sites to meet demand.
The role involves providing evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions (individual and group) for people experiencing AOD issues within Frankston.
About You
Allied Health or Nurse registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant governing body
Minimum of 2 years' experience in AOD and/or mental health
Requirements
Understanding of harm reduction and opioid replacement treatments
Practice aligned with the Peninsula Care Framework
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
Current Victorian Driver's Licence
Proficiency with computer technology
Proactive, responsible, and self-motivated
