Unfortunately, our Vineyard Manager is leaving us at the end of June and we need to replace him.

You will report to the owner and be accountable for the management and execution of activities in the vineyard, including employees and contractors. This role has an on-tools component, working with tractors and other farm and vineyard equipment as well as in the vineyard with other workers. It will also involve managing our sustainability programme, and work programme planning and reporting.

You will have experience in viticulture and/or horticulture and be looking for the next challenge, having acquired the basic skills to contribute operationally from day 1.

Important personal attributes will include pride in your work, an inquiring mind and preparedness to step up to new significant challenges. You are able to work independently of supervision.

You will be well supported by our viticulture consultant, who has been working with us since early in the vineyard's life.

There will be a strong operational content in the vineyard simply because of financial and scale constraints. You will also need to manage contractors and maintain the seasonal work programme.

Remuneration offered is competitive and include bonus and other benefits, reflecting the importance of the role to the success of the vineyard.

Job Requirements
- You've been working in or around the wine industry for a few years.
- You will have experience using farm machinery. You will also need a current Victorian drivers licence.
- You are organised and a good planner, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- You are reasonably numerate and have some experience using Excel.
- We expect you to have commercial awareness of vineyard economics and able to take responsibility for the vineyard budget.
- You use social media, but are not obsessed by it.
- You understand the need to be flexible in your working hours through the seasons and from day to day if needed.
