Giant Steps, now owned by Jackson Family Wines, is expanding their vineyard operations and has an exciting opportunity for a Vineyard Operator to join their dynamic Viticulture Team. The successful applicant will be a passionate operator with a sound understanding of vineyard machinery and viticultural operations. Answering into the Vineyard Operations Manager, this role will be hands-on, working across one of our four vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley.

Job Requirements

Reporting to the Vineyard Operation Manager, key responsibilities include:

- Mechanical vineyard operations including but not limited to pruning, spraying, slashing/mulching, vine trimming/defoliating, under vine weed management, netting and harvesting.
- Responsibility for preventative machinery maintenance and seasonal irrigation repairs and service.
- Commitment to providing a safe work environment and WH&S compliance.

Skills and Attributes:

- Flexible and hardworking with strong communication skills, a willingness to learn and contribute.
- Solid organisational skills with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Minimum 2 years viticulture experience.
- Safety awareness and working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- A passion for organic viticulture (previous experience in this area will be looked upon favourably).

You must hold Australian citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency to be considered for this role.
