A unique and exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team taking the lead role to develop and implement the evaluation of new health promotion initiatives in the eight local government areas of the Western Public Health Unit.

To be successful in the role you will have a:
- Tertiary qualification in Health Science, Health Promotion or Public Health
- Project and planning evaluation experience in design and implementation
- Can demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement
The Western Public Health Unit (WPHU) has been established to strengthen the public health response to infectious diseases and other health issues in the Western metropolitan region of Melbourne. The Unit is part of a system of three metropolitan Public Health Units (WPHU, North-eastern (NEPHU), South-eastern (SEPHU)) and six regional Public Health Units to provide a new state-wide system of public health delivery and oversight. WPHU is currently responsible for COVID-related public health control activities, but is taking on increasing responsibility for other communicable disease and health promotion activities, as part of the State's overall public health response.
**About the role**
The Evaluation and Planning Lead will be responsible to:
- Work with the Health Promotion and other teams in WPHU, as well as community partners to develop and lead the evaluation of projects and campaigns
- Lead the planning and organisation of data collection, including participant sampling and recruitment, timelining and data storage
- Design qualitative evaluation instruments, including survey questionnaires, interview/focus group discussion guides, literature review rubrics and observation schedules
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative fieldwork, including surveys, focus groups, and interviews with community organisations and community members
- Collaborate with epidemiologists and data analysts to analyse existing datasets as well as generate custom reports, discussion papers, contribute to research papers and digital/social media content and communicate key findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Develop project evaluation plans consistent with the principles, goals and objectives of the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, WPHU strategy and other policy directions
- Participate in team and service planning, health promotion activities, policy development and other project activities as required
