Lead Network Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Network Planner to oversee the planning and development of our distribution network. As part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of our network assets.

About the Role
  • You will lead comprehensive strategic planning processes to assess network capabilities and identify areas of limitation
  • Plan for augmentation of the network to maintain bushfire safety compliance with REFCL technology
  • Manage delivery of current and emerging non-network solutions required to reduce network demand and generation
  • Act as technical subject matter expert for all Network Planning matters
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members
Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and promote network planning processes, techniques, and systems
  2. Lead Regulatory Investment Tests and Electricity Distribution Price Reset proposals
  3. Evaluate, scope, and prepare business cases for network capacity, reliability, quality of supply projects, and asset renewal programs
  4. Investigate network safety, capacity, reliability, and quality of supply issues
  5. Provide high-quality network studies, constraint analysis, option evaluations, long-term plans, and strategic input to stakeholders and business
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualification and experience in Engineering
  • Extensive experience in contemporary electricity network planning, asset management practices, and energy markets
  • Expert proficiency in using electricity network analysis tools or relevant software
  • Detailed knowledge of National Electricity Rules and relevant laws, regulations, rules, licences, and agreements
