About the RoleJoin our team as a Stores & Workshop Operator, where you'll play a key role in supporting both stores and workshop operations.
This hands-on role includes managing goods inwards and outwards, operating steel processing machinery, assisting with fabrication tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
You'll work closely with the Plant Manager and wider team to ensure inventory accuracy, production efficiency, and high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pick, pack and check parts for steel water tanks.Load and unload trucks safely in accordance with company procedures.Receive and unpack goods, verify against delivery dockets and purchase orders.Maintain organisation and accuracy of stores area and inventory.Undertake stock take and cycle counts as required.Operate steel processing machinery including: Nisshinbo turret punch, steel bandsaw and hydraulic ironworkerAssist in minor fabrication work as directed.Perform pre-start and safety checks on machinery and equipment.Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the workshop environment.Liaise with the Production Supervisor to prioritise daily tasks.Communicate effectively with internal staff to support efficient production flow.Represent Altanks professionally with delivery drivers and visitors.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or workshop environmentForklift licence Competence in operating workshop machinery (e.g. turrent punch, bandsaw, ironworker) or willingness to learnStrong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and inventoryGood organisational and time management skillsAbility to follow safety procedures and conduct equipment checksA team player with clear and confident communication skillsPhysically fit and able to undertake manual handling tasks About the Company
