About The RoleReporting to the Group Manager - Commercial & Risk, the Senior Contracts Manager is accountable for the overall management of the contracts function throughout the project life cycle, once a head contract is executed for live projects.
Key Responsibilities IncludeCreation of back-to-back contract terms to pass through head contract obligations to subcontractorsProvide handover to project team of contract documentsAssist with the review and negotiation of subcontractors and supplier agreements in line with company risk positionsProvide rights and obligations summary to project teamSet up process and templates for site teams' strict compliance with contract noticesReview letters and contractual correspondenceEnsure systems in place for the management of subcontractorsManagement of key project documentation/contractsProvide assistance to project teams for management of disputes (including recognition of heads of claim, claims assessment and strength of position in line with contractual entitlements)Assist in the development of strategies for successful resolution of disputesAnalyse and report on the success of disputes to inform decisions by senior managementEnsure compliance with the Delegation of Authority Matrix and the company commercial frameworkDevelop relationships with key commercial stakeholdersDevelop plans to address project lessons learnt around the Commercial function and feedback to pre-contracts team.Close out audit actions within specified timeframes
About you:At least 7 years+ experience in a similar role within the Australian Civil and infrastructure spaceDegree qualified in Business Law, Construction Management, Commerce, Quantity surveying or similar - preferableDemonstrated experience in a similar role that encompasses the full project lifecycle, across multiple live contracts at any given time - A mustDemonstrated experience in dispute management - Highly regardedAbility to travel to site on an ad hoc basisBrings a positive, solution focused, results-oriented attitude.Achieves cohesive and an effective team spirit
