The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a
Refractory Installation Bricklayer
in our Refractory Service team based in
Port Kembla
. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The Refractory Service team provides a broad range of integrated services including the development, sourcing, installation and delivery of the best refractory solutions for our operations now, and into the future. The team is essential in ensuring the security, reliability and availability of the operational refractory lined units.
In this highly physical role, you'll join our experienced team of refractory bricklayers and installers and contribute on the delivery of all refractory installation services - including the safety of our people, quality of our refractory materials and the reliability of our installations.
Currently, this role works Monday to Friday, 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off. You'll also get access to our Employee Well-Being Program, plus other Company perks and discounts.
What Will You Do?
As a valued member of our Refractory Services team, you will:
successfully contribute to a safe working environment, ensuring safety standards are never compromised
reline ladles and vessels for iron and steel making, using a combination of bricklaying and other refractory installation techniques
carry out refractory installation and repairs of Blast Furnace troughs
spray refractory materials using gunning techniques
learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes with internal and external training
