Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced bricklayer to fill a key position in our construction operations. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in bricklaying for residential and commercial buildings, with the ability to read building plans and produce high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a variety of bricklaying projects including residential, commercial and industrial works.
  • Perform general bricklaying duties such as cutting, repairing, levelling, laying, mortaring and fitting bricks to build structures.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications to determine materials and plan and set out jobs.
  • Check vertical and horizontal alignment.
  • Cut and shape bricks and blocks to meet project requirements.
  • Lay bricks and blocks and spread mortar in accordance with plans/designs to construct and repair walls, partitions, arches etc.
  • Masonry veneer and cavity brick construction.
  • Construct multi-thickness walls and piers.
  • Seal foundations and install flashing and damp courses.
  • Repair bricks and blocks and related structures.
  • Carry out concreting tasks.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding.
  • Perform all work in compliance with occupational health and safety and environmental standards.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years bricklaying experience for residential and/or commercial buildings.
  • Ability to read building plans.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and produce high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated experience across a range of masonry projects.
  • Construction industry white card.
  • Punctual and reliable.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard 8 hour shift.
  • On-site work may involve working on the road.
