**Key accountabilities include**:

- Provide specialist and strategic policy advice to internal and external stakeholders including the Minister's Office, HWQld Executive and Directors and other stakeholders in advancing prevention policy positions and related issues which may have significant political, community and business impacts.
- Support the development and implementation of policy and programs while effectively utilising internal functions including research, data, and communications to develop and progress policy initiatives.
- Proactively keep up to date with international, national and local emergent policy trends and opportunities to inform the progression of the agency's policy remit.
- Support a coordinated approach to government engagement across HWQld, particularly in relation to policies and programs to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders.
- Lead HWQld's strategic policy response to Commonwealth, state and local government initiatives and environments, and ensure effective and likely implementation.
- Build, maintain and support internal and external relationships and collaborative networks to ensure new policy is developed and existing policy frameworks remain contemporary with stakeholder support.
- Lead the drafting of government submissions, briefing notes, correspondence, case studies, summaries and contribute policy content to communications and media plans and briefings for internal and external consumption, while utilising expertise across HWQld to inform and deliver this work.
- Mentor, coach and support team members to develop and achieve their goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement across HWQld including consistent approaches to identifying, developing, and promoting innovation across the organisation.
