**Your new role**

Reporting to the Head of Macro Currency and Emerging Markets, this role will contribute to the maintenance, management and performance of the Developed Markets (DM) Macro Discretionary Currency portfolio. The role will help to improve the investment process, make investment recommendations, and assist with day-to-day portfolio management processes.

It is an exciting opportunity to join a team working to generate alpha for the members by actively managing a portfolio of currency positions generated via macroeconomic, policy and financial markets research.

Key Duties
- Originate investment recommendations to contribute to the portfolio's performance and cost objectives. This is an internally managed macro discretionary portfolio which generates alpha from macroeconomic, policy and financial markets research.
- Contribute to the development of investment processes and tools, including relevant quantitative models, to support the investment strategy and management of the portfolio.
- Identify themes for research and co-ordinate with the team to find investment opportunities in currency markets, with a particular focus on G10 economies.
- Contribute towards the management of the fundamental FX portfolio. This will include the timely and accurate updates of investment processes and models, preparation of investment recommendations, and monitoring of performance.

**What you'll need**
- Demonstrated interest in the intersection of macroeconomics and financial markets and an ability to convert macroeconomic research into actionable currency market investment recommendations;
- Strong understanding of economic and investment principles, investment instruments and the financial markets;
- Self-starter, with an ability to independently generate investment recommendations and undertake research to support these recommendations;
- Ability to synthesize complex information from a broad and diverse investment universe into concise conclusions and communicate them in a comprehensible manner;
- Comfortable working in small, collaborative team environment, where team members are expected to have the capacity to work independently on certain projects, and be prepared to work together and provide feedback and input team initiatives;
- Willingness to learn and contribute to team initiatives and activities, including contributing to team discussions on investment issues;
- Strong quantitative analysis and modelling skills;
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with an attention to detail;
- Strong organisation skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines;
- Ability to communicate in a simple and effective manner for different level of audiences and stakeholders;
