About the Role:
Cyber Security NSW is seeking a Manager Strategic Advisory to join the Cyber Security NSW Strategic Advisory Team.
We're looking for candidates who can lead the NSW Government's response to Cyber Security risks, providing expert technical advice to protect the integrity and accessibility of Government data.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders you will interpret policy and legislative requirements, conduct risk assessments, and strengthen the overall security posture.
This strategic role ensures the NSW Government's Cyber Security Strategies are effectively implemented through expert advice and collaboration, helping to safeguard critical information across the state.
Key Accountabilities:
Actively contributes to the implementation and maintenance of the NSW Government cyber security posture through provision of expert technical advice and direction, in particular on the NSW Cyber Security Policy.
Perform technical assessments of information and cyber security controls and vulnerabilities to produce compliance reports and recommended actions to internal teams and relevant stakeholders.
Provision of expertise on information and cyber security risks, threat and vulnerability reports, penetration test reports, solution architecture designs.
Review outcomes of security breaches to maintain compliance with whole-of-government cyber security policies and standards.
Develop Cyber Security governance reporting, standards and assurance assessmentsWork closely with clusters to ensure the application of security controls meets business requirements.
About Cyber Security NSW Branch:
The Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function located within Digital NSW in the Department of Customer Service.
We are responsible for ensuring a cyber safe NSW.
The protection of our systems and digital information is vital because of the many essential services NSW Government provides including health, emergency services, and transport.
Furthermore, the exciting digital transformation being undertaken across NSW Government requires similarly enhanced cyber security capabilities.
At the centre of this exciting and growing cyber capability, Cyber Security NSW is working across NSW Government to:
Create a whole-of-government integrated approach to managing cyber risk and responding to cyber security threats
Increase cyber skills and awareness
Understand the risks from cyber threats to our digital information and systems
Set cyber security standards
Build a resilient cyber secure NSW Government
About You (Essential Requirements of the Role):
To be successful in the role you will have experience in:
Maintaining up to date knowledge and understanding of
o current and future NSW cyber security environment including threats and vulnerabilities to information, assets and services.
o techniques, systems and software
o A comprehensive understanding of Australian and NSW Government cyber security policies and frameworks
Be proactive in developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships to ensure oversight and value to cluster agencies from a Whole of Government cyber security perspective.
Have strong cyber governance, assurance and reporting experience, preferably in a government environment.
Be an Australian Citizen including the ability to obtain and maintain a baseline or higher National Security Clearance and undergo a police check.
