About the Role

The Risk and Compliance Specialist is accountable to the Senior Manager Risk, Compliance, and Assurance to establish and maintain a consultative, collaborative risk and compliance function across Integrated Energy Operations, AGL's generation fleet.

This role supports the operational Business Units in adopting a best practice approach to risk and compliance management.

This is a permanent, full-time role based at AGL's Melbourne office.

What you'll be doing- Support and drive initiatives aimed at identifying and managing operational risks to help the operations achieve production, financial and sustainability objectives.- Reporting - targeted risk and compliance reporting to stakeholder groups around risk ratings and progress with risk control initiatives- Facilitating risk assurance activities to assist key operations stakeholders in understanding the effectiveness of risk controls as well as assisting in assessing progress towards residual risk rating target levels such as ALARP and SFARP.- Developing strong networks with key risk and compliance personnel and supporting them through training and mentoring- Facilitating better risk and compliance practices and assisting in ensuring that operational and asset management strategies deal effectively with risk, compliance and audit obligations.- Facilitating the implementation of policies, standards and systems along with developing tools and systems to monitor regulatory and legislative environments to ensure early identification and the minimisation of business unit impacts.

About You

You will be an excellent communicator with a collaborative work style, committed to sharing and gathering information along with improving practices to achieve high quality outcomes.

What you'll bring to the table- Experience in on or more areas of risk management; health and safety, operations in a heavy industrial, utility, mining or construction setting.- Tertiary qualifications in risk management, engineering, law, accounting or similar fields not essential but highly regarded- Experience in Risk and Compliance Management frameworks, practices and systems- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and professional judgments in reviewing risk and compliance management frameworks and implementing improvements- Excellent communications and influencing skills working with a broad range of stakeholders- Understanding and ability to utilise project and change management principles- Knowledge of the energy industry, key challenges and industry wide risks (desirable, but not necessary).
