Job Title: Compliance Risk Specialist

The Role of a Compliance Risk Specialist

A Compliance Risk Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of an organization's systems, data, and operations. This involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement and maintain robust risk management frameworks, policies, and controls that protect against industry standards breaches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and improving the Information Security Management System (ISMS) in line with ISO 27001 regulations
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommending effective mitigations
  • Developing and reviewing security policies, procedures, and controls to ensure regulatory requirements are met
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure security awareness and compliance best practices are implemented
  • Supporting third-party risk management activities, including vendor security assessments and due diligence
  • Assisting in incident response planning and business continuity management strategies
  • Staying up-to-date with regulatory changes and emerging cybersecurity threats
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a GRC, IT security, or compliance role within a technology or software environment
  • A strong understanding of ISO 27001 standards and experience with implementation or audits
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies, security frameworks, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CISA, CRISC) are highly valued
  • A technical background would be beneficial
