**Who we are**
Residing within Supply Chain Management, the Planning & Purchasing team has accountability for providing the development and execution of supply chain demand management, inventory management, purchasing enabling business growth and sustainability. These strategic and tactical functions are delivered through; modelling, forecasting and supply chain planning, and inventory management. Additionally, we are also responsible for all purchasing activities in support of BDA programs incorporating BDA & Boeing Australia Holdings (BAH).
**The opportunity**
We are seeking two highly experienced Supply Chain professionals to join our Planning & Purchasing management team as a Purchasing Specialist. This role is pivotal in executing existing programs and new business campaigns including land, air, sea and space, through providing supply chain expertise, guidance and leadership.
The Purchasing Specialist role is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to directly influence execution of daily activities encompassing; Purchase Orders and, RFx within our programs and the broader BDA/ BAH organization. This is a critical role ensuring our programs continue deliver to plan.
**What will I be doing**
- Contribute to the open, inclusive and innovative team culture
- Contribute to purchasing requirements to optimize performance
- Execute purchasing activity and transactional level support
- Reconcile invoices and outstanding payments
- Enable collaboration across programs to identify and leverage commonalities, innovation and efficiencies
- Drive continuous improvement by communication and deploying enterprise best practices and employee engagement to improve costs, quality, delivery, employee satisfaction, and customer satisfaction.
These are Brisbane / Amberley based positions.
**Desired capabilities and competencies**
- Strong knowledge of supply chain structures, processes and procurement requirements in a commercial environment
- 3 or more years' related experience in Inventory planning and/or purchasing roles
- Systems Knowledge and Experience including proficiency with ERP purchasing and demand planning systems to perform purchasing functions
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
- An entrepreneurial spirit looking to make a difference in a rewarding sector
- Ability to work with a highly level of autonomy in a fast-paced environment
