A pivotal role within the People & Transformation Group. The Head of Risk P&T is a senior role responsible the First Line defence function for People and Transformation (P&T). This role works closely with the P&T leadership team to drive a risk culture as well as identify risk and improve the control environment - providing assurances that our internal and external operations are conducted in line with our risk appetite.
- This position requires a leadership approach that is engaging, imaginative, and collaborative, with an ability to work with other leaders to find the best balance between appropriate risk management strategies and competing priorities at an enterprise level.**Key responsibilities include**:

- Accountable for the development and maintenance of a comprehensive P&T Risk management control framework including first line Risk for P&T at Rest
- Provide strategic process and thought leadership on proactive risk management strategies, plans, and actions in the context of the current, emerging, and future P&T environment.
- Coordination of Risk Workshops to assess emerging risks and other material risks.
- Assist with day to day management and oversight of the P&T business and ensure relevant regulatory and compliance requirements are satisfied by implementing the Risk management Framework.
- Ensure a sound control environment is maintained across P&T.
- Identification and creation of appropriate controls and standard operating procedures when needed including enhancement of existing risk monitoring.
- Undertake activities to ensure policies and procedures are appropriately embedded into business operations.
- Monitor risk and perform control self-assessment for P&T, identifying any issues / controls gaps and address root cause by improving controls.
- Proactively manage open issues including audit issues and incidents ensuring that the business is on track with remediation and providing timely responses.
- Complete end to end processing for all raised incidents, including root cause analysis, systems and reporting, and post review.
- Act as the lead in driving risk culture within the People & Transformation (P&T) team.
- Develop and maintain an ongoing Risk awareness training program and drive risk maturity uplift across P&T
- Preparation / presentation of risk materials and content for various Line 1 risk forums.
- Preparation / presentation of risk content for P&T LT, ELT and ARCC meetings.
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring for Technology Risk Manager including performance management and development opportunities

**About You**:
You are committed to delivering exceptional Risk awareness and engagement, bringing others on the journey as the function matures. Your partnership style supports delivery as does deep knowledge and ability to explain the technical in simple terms.- Ten years' experience in operational risk, compliance management, or legal/regulatory management, ideally in a financial services business.
- Three+ years' experience defining and managing risk, control and compliance processes within a technology or data function.
- Strong understanding of key legislative and regulatory standards and instruments.
- Ability to understand complex concepts whilst working collaboratively with both the business and wider risk teams.
- Experience in managing multiple projects/tasks with competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment requiring high attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Exceptional relationship building skills and ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate data concepts and technical information in simple business terms.
- Experience in financial services (superannuation experience desirable but not essential).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
