**What You Will Be Doing**
The Family Violence Intake and Assessment Practitioner is a valued member of the Family Violence Program at Peninsula Health. The role works within the state-funded Safety and Support Hubs, otherwise known as The Orange Door (TOD).
The Family Violence Practitioner works to achieve safety for women and children by sharing information, assessing risk and directly reaching out to AUFV. You will be part of multidisciplinary team of family violence specialists reporting operationally to an Integrated Team Leader and receiving line management from Peninsula Health.
This position will be based within the Peninsula Health Team at the Hastings Orange Door site. Peninsula Health holds the specialist portfolio for adults using family violence. The Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Practice Guides and assessment tools for professionals working with adults who use family violence are utilised to undertake this practice. This position may also be placed in the Screening, Intake and Triage (SIT) Team to provide specialist input regarding people using violence.
- Together with your Integrated Team, the role of the Peninsula Health Orange Door Family Violence Intake and Assessment Practitioner is to provide comprehensive risk management and safety planning to clients who access the Orange Door. This is achieved through the delivery of screening and triage, assessment, crisis response and service planning.
The Orange Door brings together different workforces and practices to create an integrated team and a consolidated intake point in each Hub area to provide support for;
- Women, children and young people and families experiencing family violence
- People who use violence
- Families in need of support with the care, development, and well-being of children
This is achieved by drawing on expertise of Public Health and Community Based Organisations (including Peninsula Health) to receive and respond to referrals from:

The Hubs work directly with PUVs onsite, via phone and out-posting at partner organisations. A key function of this role is to assess the risk posed by PUVs and determine the appropriate service provision, with a focus on referrals to family violence prevention programs (Men's Behaviour Change Program) and other referrals as identified to address psychosocial needs.
