Partner with relevant service providers in the delivery of peer support groups to children and young people up to the age of 25 who have a parent experiencing mental illness/mental health challenges.CYP worker will engage directly with children and young people in caring and support roles, assist in strengthening formal and informal support networks within their family context, where gaps identified. Provide practical support, information and opportunities for connection with peers in similar circumstances, including referrals and/ involvement with appropriate peer support programs.This position will work across Mercy Mental Health & Wellbeing Services located in Wyndham & Hobsons Bay.Work closely with teams across Mercy mental health and wellbeing services:Contributing to the provision of a whole of family approach to service delivery, the worker will work closely with the Case Manager, FaPMI Coordinators and relevant service providers to define and deliver supports to children and young people up to the age of 25 who have a parent experiencing mental illness/mental health challenges.Engage directly with children and young people in caring/supporting roles:* To strengthen the young person's existing support network within their family context, where safe and appropriate to do so.* To access more formal support services where there are identified gaps in informal supports.* To provide practical support, information, and connection to children and young people, including referrals to appropriate peer support programs.* To access financial assistance.* Support and develop partnerships with external providers Participate in group programs.**About you****Required:*** Cert IV in Child, Youth &/or Family Intervention, Community Development or Cert IV Mental Health.* A current unrestricted Victorian Driver's License and ability to drive a work vehicle.* Satisfactory National Police Record Check.* Current Victorian Working with Children Check.**Desirable:*** Ability to speak a second language relevant to the local community.* At least 6 months relevant employment within a similar role within the last 18 months.* Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
