**The Opportunity**:
Ahrens Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team and oversee the financial operations within our Mining & Construction division. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will play a critical role in providing strategic financial guidance and driving financial performance to support the company's growth objectives.
**Responsibilities**:
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute financial strategies and plans aligned with the overall business goals of the Mining & Construction division.
- Provide insightful financial analysis, forecasts, and reports to support strategic decision-making and improve profitability.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and evaluate potential growth opportunities and investments.
- Financial Management:
- Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and tax planning.
- Monitor financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to drive operational efficiency and cost optimization.
- Present financial information to the executive team, board of directors, and external stakeholders as required.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks that may impact the Mining & Construction division's operations and profitability.
- Implement risk management strategies and policies to minimize exposure and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development initiatives for team members.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or a senior finance executive in the mining and construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
