Responsibilities
Become a Road Safety Hero within the school community, helping to ensure the safety of students, parents, teachers, and local motorists.
Present as a reliable, friendly presence around the school and foster positive community relationships.
Assist with school crossings during designated hours and contribute to safe travel for children.
Engage in effective communication and remain alert to potential dangers.
Shift Details
Lucas Heights Community School shifts fall within the school zone hours of 8:30–9:30 AM and 2:30–3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon.
School Crossings require 20 hours of supervising per fortnight.

Enjoy building community relationships and keeping kids safe while earning a weekly wage.
Reliable and prepared to show up in all weather.
Demonstrate effective communication skills and vigilance for safety.
Requirements and Training
Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
All training, uniforms and equipment provided.
Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment.

Recruitment Timeline
The talent team will review applications and shortlisted candidates will be contacted, likely by the week commencing 18 September 2025, for a quick 5–10 minute phone interview, followed by panel interviews.
If successful, you will progress to pre-employment checks.
Applications close 11:59 PM on Wednesday 17 September 2025.
Applicants who pass the interview may be considered for a casual position if a vacancy arises.
A Talent Pool may be created for current and future casual and permanent part-time positions over the next 18 months.
