Overview

School Crossing Supervisor – Canterbury/ Bankstown Local Government Area at Transport for NSW. Casual position providing relief at sites within the Canterbury/ Bankstown Local Government Area.

Responsibilities
  • Be a Road Safety Hero that is held in very high esteem in our communities and vital to the safety of our kids, parents, teachers and local motorists. You'll grow to be a familiar face around the school with a unique opportunity to touch the lives of countless families.
  • Provide relief at school crossing sites within the Canterbury/ Bankstown Local Government Area.
  • Work shifts when school is in session, typically between 8.00 to 9.30 AM and 2.30 to 4.00 PM, with a minimum of one hour per shift as required, Monday to Friday during the school term.
  • Operate in a way that prioritises safety and communicates effectively with the community.

  • You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community in all weather conditions.
  • You'll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
  • All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided.
  • Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment. If you already have a Working with Children Check, that will speed up the process.
What We Offer
  • Hourly rate with superannuation.
  • This is an on-site, in-person role.

  • Applications close 11:59pm on Sunday 14th September 2025.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the week commencing 15th September 2025 for a quick 5–10 minute phone interview, followed by panel interviews.
  • If successful, you will progress to pre-employment checks. A Talent Pool may be created for current and future casual and part-time positions over the next 18 months.
