Overview
MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER - DRAFTSPERSON - TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT
Recruit Australia Professionals — Specialist recruiters in Engineering, Management, Sales & Accounting.
Responsibilities
Design and prepare detailed 2D and 3D models for trailers, truck bodies, and multi-combination vehicles.
Undertake R&D and contribute to innovative projects including Performance Based Standards (PBS) designs.
Work closely with production and management teams to finalise and improve designs.
Ensure compliance with Australian Design Rules (ADR) and Vehicle Standards.
Assist with documentation for certification and registration.
Maintain accurate project records and design revisions.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Drafting.
Proficient in SolidWorks.
Background in heavy vehicle, transport equipment, or related manufacturing.
Solid grasp of engineering principles, materials, and fabrication methods.
Knowledge of ADR compliance (preferred).
Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
