HIA currently has an opportunity for a highly motivated legal expert to join our team as Assistant Director - Contracts and Compliance to provide innovative and industry focused support and member services across the country.

Reporting to the Director of Industrial Relations and Legal Services, the role of Assistant Director - Contracts and Compliance will see you managing various internal contract projects, including maintaining the risk allocation and legislative compliance of HIA's suite of standard form contracts.

**A day in the life **

A day in this role would see you doing a mix of ongoing project-based work, as well as ad hoc contractual management and stakeholder support, for example you would be expected to:

- Maintain and manage all HIA contract related projects and might include drafting of contracts, and providing advice on risk allocation.
- Work alongside our Workplace Services team to understand unique region requirements.
- Conducting annual and ad-hoc reviews of HIA's suite of standard form contracts and documents to ensure they are legally compliant and represent residential building industry practice.
- Provide leadership and support to the workplace services team by setting clear direction, performance standards and expectations when conducting reviews and projects
- Maintain contract and other document records regarding contractual changes and future projects
- Navigate and understand different legislative requirements applicable to contracts.
- Develop information and training in relation to contractual requirements.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people, enjoys solving complex problems and has excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.

You must be able to work independently and proactively and enjoy the challenge of providing support and advice across various jurisdictions.

Experience and a tertiary qualification in project management, contracts, construction, legal or related discipline would certainly help you stand out.
