We are seeking passionate Therapeutic Care Workers.
We have multiple part-time opportunities available to join our Specialised Residential Care Team at our SYC Nuriootpa home.The SRC program is SYC's therapeutic residential care program for young people aged 0 to 18 who have experienced significant trauma, abuse, and neglect.
This program provides 24/7 consistent rotating roster shifts, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.Based on Attachment Theory, the program is designed to give young people a sense of security, consistency, and love – all the hallmarks of a family experience.You will assist young people to effectively develop and foster appropriate life skills and social abilities to support their personal development and increase their connection with the community by helping young people to:Settle into a home-like environmentCreate a secure and consistent primary relationshipIncrease their independent living skillsEnhance their capacity and links to the local communityAchieve their goals and aspirationsAbout YouThis role will engage with, inspire, and support young people to create positive experiences and skills for independence.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:An ability to form a secure attachment with young peopleExperience working with young people with complex traumaExperience in developing case plans, case noting, and report writingFor this role, you will need to:Hold a minimum Certificate IV qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Youth Work, Social Work, Social Science, Counselling) or be actively working towards a relevant qualification in accordance with DCP requirementsBe willing to complete a Working with Children Check, First Aid & CPR, and a National Police CheckHold a current and valid Full Driver Licence and be willing to driveBe prepared to undergo a Psychological AssessmentBe eligible to work in AustraliaBe available to work afternoon/night shifts from 4 pm to 8 am, including an 8-hour passive (overnight) sleepWhy join Team SYC?
