**About the role**:
As the Laboratory Chemistry Supervisor you will lead the team in managing all activities of a modern Chemistry department, and to ensure compliance with the requirement for the competence of testing and calibration technologies. Key accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

- Formation and establishment of the work program undertaken by the team, and the procedures and work practices within the department.
- Provide technical advice to the Laboratory Business Manager and the Water Quality Manager on emerging trends and new technologies in the Chemistry area.
- Lead the Chemistry department's operation, involving the planning, direction, control and evaluation of operations which include providing analysis and interpretation of methods and practices.
- Manage the NATA authorisation of reports for all Chemistry analysis; and supervise the checking and approval of results and laboratory result reporting.
- Work with the Laboratory Business Manager to implement best practice frameworks as well as managing the statutory requirements for the water industry.

- Degree in Chemistry coupled with extensive experience and knowledge in water Chemistry.
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage the day-to-day operations and provide analysis and interpretation of methods and practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of chemical analysis relating to water, wastewater, and recycled water.
- Ability to analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative procedures and implement troubleshooting skills as required.
- Knowledge and experience in formulating and implementing Quality Assurance procedures to support accreditation by the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA).
- Experience with the use of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
