Manager Commercial Credit Oversight

**About the Role**
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Credit Risk Review & Overview Manager you will join the Group Risk team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for providing assurance to the Bank on the commercial lending portfolios across the Bank. This includes syndicated lending, commercial lending, property development and investment lending, small and medium Enterprise (SME) lending, equipment finance, floorplan lending, structured finance and novated leasing. This includes the loan origination, credit decisions, loan documentation and settlement, account management and risk grading.

You will also be responsible for assurance on the commercial credit decisions made by the various Credit Managers to ensure the credit decisions are sound and meet the Bank's risk appetite and legislative requirements.

You will be required to identify key issues, interpret policy and articulate the findings in a constructive manner. This also includes a requirement to understand the implications of the issue identified and the impact for the Bank, key stakeholders and the customer.

This role will assess the appropriateness and effectiveness of current credit risk controls to manage these portfolios.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

- Conduct portfolio and file reviews and identify key risks
- Review and/or recommend amendments to Credit Policy
- Identify all material issues during reviews
- Manage relationships to ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement during all phases of the review
- Provide on-the-job training as required

**About you**
With experience in a credit assessment, credit oversight or credit risk review role at a financial institution, you will have sound knowledge of credit policy, regulatory codes and credit processes including scoring and other automated lending support programs.

You will also demonstrate the following skills, experience and abilities:

- Extensive commercial credit or commercial lending background
- High attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- A strong understanding of key business drivers and key success factors in business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound report writing skills
- Previous experience in a financial institution
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and unambiguous manner
- Outcome orientated with a clear understanding of customer requirements
- Sound computer skills
