Job Description:
The Conference and Events Director is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of conferencing and/or events venues. Their goal is to ensure excellence in all aspects of service and operations, exceeding both internal and external guest requirements.
They strive to improve relationships with existing clients and assist in generating new business opportunities.
Take direction from senior management while maintaining a proactive approach.
Direct, supervise and coordinate operational activities to ensure smooth and efficient hotel function.
Guarantee departmental operations adhere to venue and hotel policies, procedures, guidelines, and manuals to ensure compliance, safety, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate statistical records and reporting are maintained.
Control departmental expenses within set targets.
Cultivate a sales culture by maximising up-selling and on-selling techniques.
Ensure effective communication within the department for flawless operation.
Establish and maintain minimum standards for back-of-house areas with an emphasis on functionality and cleanliness.
