Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Manager

As a senior manager of environmental sustainability, you will lead a team dedicated to improving environmental data and information to support evidence-based regulatory decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to deliver high-quality environmental data and strategic products that support regulatory decision-making and improved environmental outcomes.
  • Manage partnerships across government, academia, industry, and community stakeholders to drive collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide mentoring and support to staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Represent the department at interagency forums, conferences, and workshops, contributing to biodiversity policy development and reform.
  • Communicate policy initiatives effectively through briefings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure branch outcomes align with departmental strategic goals and are delivered on time and within budget.
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of Western Australian environmental legislation, policies, and processes.
  • Extensive experience in strategic environmental policy and delivering evidence-based technical advice.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven project management capability with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.

Desirable qualifications include a tertiary degree in environmental science, policy, or a related field.

Requirements:

Mid-senior level leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
