Our client is a leader in providing services to the maritime, military and resource sectors. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced
**Procurement Officer **to join their professional team based in their Henderson office.

Our client delivers value for their customers through innovative people, organisational agility, and operational excellence. The business has experienced significant growth over the last decade and has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join the team to support their most complex and significant marine vendor relationships.

This position reports directly to the Supply Chain & Sourcing Manager, whilst working in unison with the Purchasing Manager, Project Manager, Engineering Estimating Manager, and Divisional Marine Manager. You will manage a wide variety of suppliers, establish external supplier performance tracking and track trends in the industry.

**Duties include but not limited to**:

- The timely and accurate procurement of goods and materials to meet critical production processes across multiple locations.
- Negotiate and /or renegotiate new and existing agreements or statements of work with high levels of complexity.
- Work closely with dynamic teams of professionals.
- Manage the relationship cycle with vendors that are most strategically significant to the Company.
- Establishing and maintaining measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality (in collaboration with our Quality team), internal order placement performance and buyer activity levels.
- Report to management the measurable status of progress and corrective actions as it pertains to supplier performance.
- Ensure performance improvement and recovery plans are developed, issued, tracked, and reported on as required for supply base management and improvement.
- Manage raw material flow to ensure inventory is maintained to the optimum level to support on time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels.
- Leads product development comity strategies in line with corporate initiatives to improve supply chain efficiencies and reduce the total cost of supply chain management.
- Develops an overall vendor base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spend, and leveraging of technologies.
- Manages materials savings initiatives in line with profit plan and overall business objectives.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain & Sourcing Manager.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Ideally a minimum 3 to 5 years' experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft Navision preferred.
- Experience with large Government contracts will be looked upon favorably.
- Good working knowledge of inventory processes, and production flow.
- Ability to prioritise, manage multiple projects, and adhere to business-critical deadlines.
- Self-motivated - Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Effective at using data, logic, and instincts to identify opportunities, problems and execute solutions.
- Trustworthy - Passionate dedication and ethical approach to all stakeholders.
- Collaborative - Successful history of building relationships, evidence of being a well-respected, trusted partner, and someone others want to work with.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication, and sales skills
- Proactive manner demonstrating interpersonal skills and conflict management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel.
- Ability to succeed in a high-performance team environment.

- Ability to identify new processes and procedures for continual improvement.
- Highly articulate with excellent attention to detail.
- A high level of organisational and time management skills.
