Communications Advisor

As the **Communications Advisor** at Rosebel Gold Mines (RGM), you will play a crucial role in supporting key stakeholders with communicating their objectives through internal and external communication channels. Ensure consistency of internal and external communications with corporate messaging. Deliver effective internal employee communications to ensure all colleagues are fully informed about RGM strategy, objectives, and progress and are engaged and understand how they contribute. Engage with our external stakeholders through our social media channels.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
Identifying and defining communication needs throughout the Company.
- Support effective, timely two-way communication between employees and managers at all levels and an understanding of support of Rosebel Gold Mines' cultural and language variations using print, electronic, and web-based communication methods. Ensure message consistency is aligned with communication strategy, company mission, and business objectives.
- Work with key managers and employees to build relationships and assist in the formulation of internal communications strategies, message content, and message timing to support business objectives and company image.
- Provide expertise and advise to colleagues/managers on all communication aspects, as well as ensure the quality of RGM communication products.
- Manage external communication, marketing, and branding processes and projects, with a clear focus on the different target groups.
- Update and further develop existing marketing and communication tools, such as the RGM website, brochures, LinkedIn page, etc., and further elaborate on new tools in order to improve their visibility to different target groups.
- Coordinate the production of promotional videos, news releases, and the design and printing of marketing literature and advertisements for all areas.
- Represent RGM at meetings, functions, and events as required.
- Identify key media and key journalists and foster a relationship with them to proactively position RGM topics and messages in the national news media.
- Assist Zijin Mining Group and the mine site management to deal effectively with the media, including the announcement of company initiatives.
- Work closely with various internal stakeholders to collect and prioritize stories for effective and consistent coverage.
- Monitor media trends and issues.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational and time management.
- Able to determine and set priorities.
- Ability to provide strong client service.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Sound working knowledge of editing and design programs and software.
- Ability to effectively present information to a variety of audiences
- Able to design posters, dashboards, and flyers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English and speaking knowledge of Sranan Tongo.
- Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 5 days of work (Monday to Friday) followed by 2 days break.
