The Parliamentary Counsel's Office (PCO) provides a comprehensive and integrated range of high-quality services for the drafting of, and access to, NSW legislation and the giving of advice and information about legislation.

PCO is currently recruiting for **Legislation Editing and Access Officers**.** **Officers will support the preparation of draft legislation through editorial checking, publishing approved legislation using specialised software and facilitating online access to legislation, including incorporating amendments into made legislation.

People are generally expected to work in the office in pre-sitting and sitting weeks to accommodate the requirements of the Parliament. Some after-hours work may also be required at these times, which is managed within the rostering, flexible working, or paid overtime arrangements applicable to the team.

Successful applicants will participate in a comprehensive in-house training program on legislative editing and publishing, including technical systems.

**1. Describe a time when you edited a complicated document into plain English. What did you do to ensure you retained the meaning of the original text?**

**2. In this role you will be required to work across a number of areas relating to the preparation, making and publishing of legislation. Describe how you have previously managed your time and shifting work priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail, providing examples.**
