The Parliamentary Counsel's Office provides high-quality services for drafting NSW legislation and giving advice on it.

As a Paralegal and Executive Support Officer, you will work with the Parliamentary Counsel and other senior staff to finalise draft Bills and perform administrative tasks.

This role is for you if you can:

  • Assist the Parliamentary Counsel with preparing draft Bills and ensure quality of drafts.
  • Perform editorial checking and proofreading to ensure draft legislation conforms to standards.
  • Prepare Explanatory Notes and Notices of Motion for Bills and Cabinet materials.
  • Undertake legal research projects and administrative tasks as directed.
  • Accurately administer and maintain critical records and systems.
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Assistant and other senior staff.

People are generally expected to work in the office during Parliament sittings. Some after-hours work may be required.

Successful applicants will participate in a comprehensive training program on legislative editing and publishing.
