Job Summary:
The Critical Facilities Specialist supports the wider team by performing repairs and leading all aspects of site maintenance at our static site. The successful applicant will be tasked with coordinating the maintenance and up keeping of all Data center infrastructure according to Equinix global standards.
Strong interpersonal skills (particularly when speaking with onsite customers), attention to detail, engineering proficiency and a dedication to consistently achieving personal and team Equinix goals will be highly regarded. Balancing and prioritising tasks and workloads whilst maintaining a calm demeanor will also be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides junior team members and colleagues with technical support and advice
- Crafting engineering scripts, MOP's and working with multi-functional teams on approvals
- Ensure all Global Engineering and Design team projects, processes, standards and protocols are upheld
- Technical reporting on capacity and energy cost or usage
- Reviewing contractor's JSEA, SWMS, MoP
- Reviewing specialist contractual reports and activities
- Acts as SME and provides training to team members where needed.
- Breakdown and Repairs Management
- Maintenance Scheduling and Planned Preventative Maintenance
- Be part of a scheduled on-call roster to provide remote/on-site site coverage
- Problem Solving - root cause analysis and in the repair of failed components.
- Design - Validates design criteria for new principal power installations (e.g. single power source)
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade Certificate or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, or related fields
- Willingness to work autonomously and unsupervised when required
- Ideally some data center or mission critical exposure and experience
- Calm demeanor, positive outlook and enjoys working in a team environment.
- Ability to attain and maintain NV1 security clearance
- Creating detailed technical/engineering report related to the IBX capacity and environment

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
- San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $102,000 to $162,000
- California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $94,000 to $149,000
- Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $85,000 to $135,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
