We have a new requirement for a Shut Coordinator, for this well-known mining organisation. This is a long-term career opportunity. The scope of work is initially for 3 years but is likely to be ongoing, meaning you can make this a real career move.
This is a FIFO role to Port Hedland on an 11:10 roster and is offering exceptional hourly rates.
This team is responsible for executing large-scale capital and operation expenditure track works including track renewal/reconstruction (plain line, turnouts, cross overs), re-rail & stress management and rail civil works.
You'll specifically be responsible for assisting the Shut Lead with planning and coordinating the execution of track works. This includes scoping, site preparation and execution. The work centres on the delivery of track materials for pre shut works, heavy involvement in executing shut works and post shut clean up and demobilisation work banks.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Provide input into the planning of track renewals works and the structure of the teams to enable safe and efficient execution of works.
- Supervision of contractor and sub-contractor groups during execution of works to ensure technical and quality standards are achieved safely
- Ensure standards are adhered to and work is undertaken in a safe and efficient manner
- Prompt completion of supporting and reporting documentation and 1SAP administration.
- Monitor and record detail of work progress and contractor resource capability and capacity.
- Confirm works are constructed to contractual requirements and timelines including adherence to RFQ/SOW and authorising of ITPs.
- Maintain accurate records of various contractor's personnel and equipment on site to enable timely and accurate reports. i.e., detailed DSR's
- Report incidents and accidents and collate detailed incident, accident, and injury statistics.
- Prepare permits as required i.e., PTW (Permit to Work), excavation, high voltage permits, etc,
- Provide documented and detailed job handover information for incoming Supervisor/Co-ordination/relief person
In terms of your background, you'll ideally have:
- Experience in Planning and Scheduling of works, ideally in the track or rail industry
- Experience in track works including plain line, turnouts and cross overs, level crossings, re rail and stress management, deliveries, material identification and stock piling/site set out
- Good communication, interpersonal and people management skills with a range of audiences.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft suite, 1SAP and planning systems.
- Good planning skills and the ability to oversee projects to successful completion.
- Administration and prioritisation including time management capability.
- Competent in reading detailed plans and elevations.
