**What we're looking for**:
This position is responsible for high volume, end-to-end management of workers compensation claims. With your ability to exercise empathy as well as resilience, you will provide timely and efficient claims and injury management to facilitate a safe and durable return to work experience of our injured employees.
**The role**:
- Ensuring effective case management of all Workers Compensation Claims
- Undertaking early intervention to ensure the case management plan effectively meets the needs of the relevant parties, while monitoring costs.
- Managing effective WC rehabilitation and case management, with emphasis on early intervention and return to work.
- Ensuring effective accident/incident investigations and risk assessments are conducted in a timely, impartial and outcome focused manner.
- Assist in workers compensation weekly payments, Insurer Wage reimbursements and monthly reconciliation
- Assisting in determining cover according to relevant legislation and case law by obtaining appropriate information from the staff member, health care provider(s), and supervisor
- Providing leadership of the WC function, ensuring management of insurances and costs and the provision of effective case management
- Taking responsibility for the effective WC and rehabilitation management nationally. Provide first point contact in relation to premium information requests.
- Providing support and advice to AEG with respect to all Workers Compensation matters, how to use the Affinity Safety Alert System and the Return-to-Work Process.
- Work collaboratively with Managers on all aspects of activities relating to Return to Work, rehabilitation initiatives, reasonable adjustments, injury prevention and safe return to work after a workplace injury has occurred and assist in non-work-related medical conditions.
**About you**:
- Workplace Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator Accreditation
- Minimum 3 years' experience in similar Return to Work role
- Proven ability to effectively lead the management of workers compensation claims management
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously where needed to achieve required outcomes within specified deadlines/time frames
- Comprehensive knowledge of worker's compensation legislations, processes, and management of common law claims
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult with, and provide advice on workers compensation claims management and rehabilitation issues
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing workloads and priorities.
- A positive and friendly demeanour with a strong customer service focus.
- High attention to detail.
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing work environments and requirements.
