Let's talk about this role
As the Group Communications Manager, you will be responsible for managing the external communications for nib Group, including its health, travel and NDIS businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
You will manage nib's proactive and reactive media and public relations activities, government relations, crisis communications, and limited social media. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop proactive media opportunities and will work directly with journalists and nib's external agencies to secure earned media coverage.
In addition, this role finds news angles and interprets trends from data to support nib's Payer to Partner strategy; supports executives in media interviews, speaking opportunities and events; and provides strategic advice and expertise for reputational issues while closely monitoring external events or issues.
Let's talk about you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations or Journalism.
With this experience, you bring knowledge of PR campaigns and strategies along with an understanding of news cycles, the way newsrooms operate, key reporters and their rounds.
Furthermore, we're looking for:
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and pitching proactive and reactive media releases and liaising with key reporters and editors- Experience in Crisis Communications- First class organisational, presentation and communication skills- Degree in Communications, Law or similar
