About the opportunity
Our team supports customers in the Industrial Automation business in the Pacific Zone of Australia and New Zealand. We are looking for a Software Technical Support Engineer to join the team. Reporting into the Customer Success division, Pacific (Zone) and based in Macquarie Park NSW, the role ensures continued smooth operations for our customers, troubleshoots and diagnoses faults across SCADA verticals and products including GeoSCADA, AVEVA System Platform and AVEVA Plant SCADA. The role also collaborates with pre-sales, sales, quotes and procurement to focus on the customer's end-to-end experience.
Key responsibilities
Own, investigate and resolve complex software issues; propose workarounds for customers
Accurate and timely documentation of activities and findings in the case management system
Contribute to digital self-help materials to promote faster problem resolution and build internal knowledge sharing
Collaborate with colleagues in other support centres and departments
Focus on customer experience, maintaining regular, empathetic communication while resolving technical issues
Continuously learn and actively contribute to the team and customers
About you / Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate 2–4 years of experience in Application Support within an ASX top 100 business, supporting mainstream software applications and a range of customers. This includes familiarity with software architecture, software unit testing, and other aspects of the SDLC. A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Computer Science, and understanding of software and automation hardware communications and setup, are preferred.
Key skills and experience
Experience with AVEVA System Platform and Plant SCADA or GEO SCADA is advantageous
Understanding of Windows OS, networking concepts and security
Knowledge of Windows tools and commands for diagnosing and troubleshooting software
Experience integrating hardware and software
Quick thinking, self-motivated, and proactive in maintaining customer satisfaction
