About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Officer to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex Defence projects.
This role is a key position within a multidisciplinary team, responsible for driving project outcomes aligned with national security objectives.
You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met within scope, budget, and schedule.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to Australia's Defence capability.
Key Responsibilities Provide high-level project support across multiple Defence initiatives, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and Defence policy.
Coordinate project planning, scheduling, reporting, and risk management activities.
Monitor project performance and provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
Prepare briefings, reports, and documentation for internal and external audiences.
Liaise with stakeholders including Defence contractors, government agencies, and industry partners.
Identify process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in contract management and procurement processes in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
About You Proven experience in project management or coordination in a Defence or government environment.
Strong knowledge of Defence project governance and capability lifecycle (e.g., CASG, ICP, DCP).
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Ability to analyse complex information and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to working in a security-sensitive environment.
Essential Criteria Australian Citizenship (Mandatory) Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (NV1 or above) Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a project or program support role.
Desirable Criteria Experience using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Jira).
PRINCE2, AgilePM, or PMP certification.
