**About the role**:
Reporting to the State Operations Manager, the HSSE Lead - Operations is responsible for the delivery of HSSE support to our Supply Chain facilities in WA/SA/NT.

These facilities include North Fremantle, Kalgoorlie, Esperance, King Bay, Dampier, Parker Point, Karratha, Broome, Cocos Island, Port Lincoln, Birkenhead, Darwin Airport, Perth ITP, Adelaide ITP, Tom Price, West Angelas, Paraburdoo and Brockman.

The HSSE Lead works closely with the site Operations Managers and their teams providing visible safety leadership and advice, and coaching in the development of a learning based safety culture.
Additionally, the HSSE Lead monitors regulatory and HSSE management system compliance, assists in the coordination of assurance activities and the delivery of safety initiatives that target ongoing improvement in our HSSE performance.

**Key responsibilities**
- Supports the site Operations Managers, to ensure the integrity of the Viva Energy HSSE Management System is maintained at each location.
- Monitors compliance with site "licence to operate" obligations.
- Ensures personal and process safety risks are understood across operations, and that ways of working are effectively managing risk in day to day operations.
- Facilitates and/or participates in safety risk assessments, hazard evaluations and bowtie reviews to determine effectiveness of, and identify improvements to, risk controls.
- Is responsible for monitoring completion of local assurance plans and participates in national assurance activities; including leading the review of output from self-assessment audits, and support resulting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Works with contract owners to ensure contractor safety management processes are consistently implemented at all work sites, and that verification audits are scheduled and completed appropriately.
- Ensure the effective implementation of HSSE MS critical processes (MoC, Myosh, PtW, LOTO)
- Facilitates co-ordination of safety reports, and consolidates performance management reporting for both company and external stakeholders.
- Provide support, advice and challenge to site incident investigations and subsequent recommendations and/or actions.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Comprehensive understanding of the relevant regulatory environment (familiarity with WHS and MHF legislation desirable).
- Certificate IV in WHS or preferable Tertiary qualifications within relevant field of WHS or related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience.
- Experienced in a dangerous goods, liquid fuel or aviation operational environment, and also experienced in;
- Managing and/or implementing safety management processes and systems within industrial facilities.
- Developing safety management processes and procedures to minimise risks As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)
- Contractor HSE Management include Permit to Work, LOTO and SWMS
- Implementation of WHS related continuous improvement imitative
- WHS audit experience
- Ability to work across multiple sites and work flexible hours
- Drivers Licence
- Lead Auditor qualification preferred
