**Your new role**:
An exciting opportunity to join The Dimensional Control team - you will carry out a wide range of surveys using the latest 3D measuring equipment, this includes processing and analysing 3D data & preparing final reports supporting Production, Engineering and Quality.

**The surveying activities include but are not limited to**: Panel assembly, Ship construction, and Ship maintenance alignment, on numerous classes of Royal Australian Navy vessels.
The Dimensional Controller will be required to support the Dimensional Control Lead in day to day management of the Dimensional Control activities.

**In terms of specific responsibilities, you will**:

- Conduct daily Dimensional control surveys.
- Liaise and maintain relationships with Production, Engineering & Quality.
- Assist in the development of dimensional control plans for products.
- Support the management & maintenance of survey equipment calibration carrying out daily checks.
- Provide support and guidance on survey results interacting with production on adjustments required.
- Produce DC reports and record non-conformances and technical anomalies via the correct reporting mechanisms.

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- A background in surveying / metrology and or engineering discipline.
- Understanding of dimensional measurement and budget tolerances.
- Experienced in dimensional control or worked in an industrial production engineering environment.
- Familiar with 3D software packages (Spatial Analyzer, Scene, AutoCAD)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
- Conversant in the use of Total Stations, PCMM Arms, Laser trackers, Laser scanning equipment, Theodolites & Dumpy Levels.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
