Loader Operator Job Summary

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for transporting essential materials to and from worksites while upholding the highest standards of safety, precision, and compliance.

About the Position

In this position, you will be a key member of our Engineering Construction team. Your primary duties will include ensuring timely and secure transport of materials across City worksites, performing precision measurements and interpreting single-dimensional plans, operating City vehicles and equipment with professionalism, and identifying and locating underground services to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Transport essential materials to and from worksites in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Perform precision measurements and interpret single-dimensional plans to support quality control and project accuracy.
  3. Operate City vehicles, plant, and equipment with professionalism, meeting all legal and safety requirements.
  4. Identify and locate underground services to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth project execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Substantial experience operating a front-end loader in a similar environment delivering quality and desirable service levels.
  • Able to contribute and apply analytical and problem-solving skills in matters relating to road construction.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and monitor personal workload with minimal supervision to achieve agreed outcomes within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, exercising initiative and judgement whilst working with minimal supervision.
  • Current MR class driver's licence
  • White Card
  • Loader Operators ticket
  • Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old)
