Our client, a technology innovator on the global stage, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team for an initial short term assignment. Technological powerhouse & pioneer - based right here in Newcastle
Values led organisation with strong focus on ethics, collaboration, innovation & safety - where you can make an impact beyond the BAU numbers and accounts Initial temporary assignment to support a crucial transformation project within the finance team.
This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations, as well as providing support across a range of finance and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
Monitor the finance inbox and action messages promptly
Create, maintain, and review vendor accounts with accuracy
Process a high volume of invoices, including matching, batching, and coding
Coordinate staff reimbursements and distribute invoices for approval
Prepare EFT payments in line with company policies and procedures
Ensure invoices are paid within agreed trading terms
Process project timesheets and staff time/attendance records
Reconcile accounts monthly to maintain financial accuracy
Respond to invoice queries and provide timely resolutions
Maintain accurate records and support the finance team with administration tasks as required
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years' experience in a full-function Accounts Payable role
Certificate III in Financial Services or Accounting (minimum)
A natural problem solver with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Proactive, organised and reliable, with a focus on accurate outcomes & attention to detail
Strong communication skills, confident dealing with internal and external stakeholders
High level experience across various ERP systems
Xero & NetSuite experience would be highly regarded
