**What the opportunity is**:
- Employment with Museums of History NSW.
- Clerk Grade 7/8. Remuneration package includes salary ($113,574 to $125,720), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Ongoing full-time employment.
- The role will work across Sydney.
**What we do**
Museums of History NSW brings together a portfolio of iconic museums, rich collections and heritage sites, the nation's oldest archive collection, vital recordkeeping services and expert staff.
We bring history to life by sharing the stories of our places and collections. Through the State Archives Collection, we manage NSW's official documentary heritage, supporting government transparency and the public's right to access information.
These two roles do not just sit side by side - they inform and enrich each other. By preserving and making accessible our places, collections and archives, we create opportunities for people to explore the past and better understand their own place in the world. By supporting lifelong learning and inviting people to come together, we promote civic literacy, empathy, wellbeing and belonging.

Museums of History NSW is a state cultural institution, established under the Museums of History NSW Act 2022. It is an agency of the NSW Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport (DCITHS).
**What you'll do with us**:
This role will manage the planning, prioritisation and implementation of building and general maintenance across the City Museums Portfolio to ensure building standards, specifications, heritage requirements and workplace health and safety standards are met at each site.

**What you need to tell us - Targeted questions**:
1.Describe how you have managed a number of building or building maintenance projects. What documentation did you prepare prior to, during and after each project? What approvals were required? How have prioritised these, and to whom did you report progress and completion?
2.Provide an example of when you had to work independently on a range of projects in the face of competing priorities and tight timeframes. In your answer demonstrate how you handled challenges and constraints and managed day-to-day workload alongside long-term deliverables.
**Essential requirements of the role**:
- Tertiary qualifications (including VET) in building /trades/building maintenance or commensurate experience.
- Extensive working knowledge of building services including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire, security systems and building codes.
- Working knowledge and training in workplace health and safety.
- Experience working with heritage or museum facilities with an understanding of heritage buildings and museum environments.
- Understanding and training with an asset maintenance systems
- Experience managing staff and budgets
- Ability to manage lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling, and moving around heritage sites, both internal and external environments is a genuine workplace requirement.
- Current NSW driver's licence and willingness and ability to work across and travel to multiple work locations.

- To be eligible for an ongoing role in the NSW Public Sector you need to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. For temporary and casual roles, you need to hold a valid visa giving you permission to work in Australia as required by the role.
- A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months.
