About the Role
- Liaise and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on all facets of care for Indigenous mental health and addictions consumers including monitoring services provided to consumers and families and informing staff on Indigenous customs, priorities and protocols and the needs of Indigenous consumers.
- Advocate for consumers and families in the hospital environment, negotiating satisfactory outcomes for all parties and facilitating effective communication in a flexible and empathetic manner.
- Whilst not mandatory, a health diploma or degree would be highly regarded.
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
